Meryl Streep made headlines when she used her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday to attack President-elect Donald Trump. She focused many of her comments on a gesture once used by Trump.
Streep claimed that he was making fun of a reporter with a disability. Trump said the man was groveling as he changed a story he wrote years ago to make Trump look bad. Liberals like Streep are quick to jump to assumptions about Republicans if it suits their own personal narrative.
The Senate convened hearings on Tuesday as they started the confirmation process for Trump’s cabinet nominations. The confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala. is expected to be one of the more contentious. But one liberal personality did just like Streep and jumped to a ridiculous conclusion just to suit his own narrative.
MTV News culture writer Ira Madison watched a portion of Sessions’ confirmation hearing and noticed that at one point Sessions was holding a young Asian child.

“Sessions, sir, kindly return this Asian baby to the Toys ‘R’ Us you stole her from,” Madison wrote. But if Madison had done just a small amount of research, he would have learned that there was an excellent reason for that particular child to be in Sessions’ lap: It’s his granddaughter.
CNN’s Jake Tapper slammed Madison:
Disgusting tweet. The little girl is his granddaughter. Delete your account and find some humanity. https://t.co/8OZUtY5FcA

Madison, who deleted his tweet, defended his comments even after he learned of the relationship. He quickly changed the subject focusing on what he called Sessions’ racist tendencies.
There is no reason for that child to be in his lap in a hearing other than to send an "I'm not racist message"

I often tell jokes, but seeing as bringing up Sessions' history of racial hatred of Asians is seen as an attack on his grandchild, I deleted

Sad that many don't see Sessions' legitimate history of racism as a cause for concern today, but he can deeply affect our country
