As Election Day approached, President-elect Donald Trump adopted a popular campaign slogan, “drain the swamp,” referring to his plans for Washington. Trump repeatedly asserted that Washington is broken and that we need to change the way it works from the outside in. The result would be a lot of new faces in Washington.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Trump advisor, made news earlier this week when he announced that Trump was abandoning his popular line.
PBS reported that Gingrich now claims that he “goofed” and that “Drain the swamp is in. The alligators should be worried.”
Anti-Trumpers quickly tweeted their own responses, repeating a liberal talking point about Trump appointing and nominating successful businessmen.
Someone incorrectly stated that the phrase "DRAIN THE SWAMP" was no longer being used by me. Actually, we will always be trying to DTS.
