Laura Ingraham is known for her no-holds-barred commentary. The conservative media personality regularly appears on Fox News, has her own radio show, has written several books and commentaries and heads up LifeZette.com.
Rumors have been swirling among conservative circles about a potential new role for Ingraham. She was a strong supporter and defender of President-elect Donald Trump throughout his campaign. There was a significant amount of attention given to the possibility of Ingraham serving as Trump’s press secretary.
But it looks like she may be working with Trump in an entirely different capacity.
Right Wing News reported that Ingraham is considering a Senate run. Her opponent would be none other than Virginia Democrat and former Hillary Clinton running mate Tim Kaine. Steps are already underway to set the stage for Ingraham’s campaign. The Washington Examiner reported similarly adding the “knowledgeable sources said that several party insiders have approached the media giant to run and that she is considering it.”
“Peter Anthony, her business partner, has been arranging website domains for her senatorial run,” Right Wing News reported. Domains including ingrahamsenate.net, ingrahamsenate.com, ingrahamforvirginia and ingraham2018 have reportedly been arranged.
The Hill reported that “Ingraham would not comment on whether or not she is planning to run.” She has never run for political office before but is well versed on the issues of the day. If she runs, she may have some stiff and more experienced competition including Republicans Barbara Comstock, Dave Brat and Carly Fiorina. Of course, given the anti-establishment tenor of the electorate, that could work in Ingraham’s favor.
