GOP Governor Signs BOMBSHELL Second Amendment Bill…Conservatives Are Cheering!

It’s beginning to feel a lot safer in Ohio after the governor signed a sweeping gun-carry law that will take effect within weeks.

Law-abiding armed citizens can now defend themselves in public places previously banned for gun carry. The new law follows a terrorist attack at the state’s largest university.

Ohio’s new law pushes back against those who want innocent people to fall victim to violent crimes because they can’t defend themselves.

From Fox News:

A bill signed Monday by Ohio Gov. John Kasich will allow for the expansion of concealed carry of handguns in daycare centers, college campuses, airport terminals, school safety zones and certain government buildings.

The signing of the bill comes shortly after 13 people were wounded by Somali refugee Abdul Razak Ali Artan in a car ramming attack and mass stabbing on the campus of Ohio State University.

Senate Bill 199, which takes effect in 90 days, lifts the state’s ban on carrying hidden weapons in the aforementioned areas.

The law also would allow gun owners to store their weapons in their vehicles while parked in private business lots.

Not all public places will be open to gun carry. Courthouses, police stations and the statehouse are still off limits.

College boards of trustees and business owners would have to approve this measure individually, and daycare centers will have the option of posting signs preventing firearms.

A combination of factors from the terrorist attack to prospects of a new gun law caused gun permits to spike across the state.

Right before the signing of this bill, the Buckeye Firearms Association reported that a record 25,474 permits were issued during the third quarter of this year – 59 percent increase from the same period in 2015.

Approximately one in 16 adults in the state are now concealed carry permit holders.

Supporters took to social media to praise the new law.

In the face of violence, citizens need the choice of how to defend themselves. It’s an American right, and it’s a personal choice that demands great responsibility.

Kasich has ensured Ohioans have a chance to act responsibly and take action if needed as terrorism is on the rise across the world.
