Let’s be diplomatic. The US intelligence services have a record that is, ummm, less than stellar.
From Iraqi weapons of mass destruction to the rise of ISIS to motive behind the Benghazi attack, their record is more comparable to a blind squirrel than James Bond.
So it isn’t exactly a galloping surprise that Donald Trump wants to see actual evidence generated by the intelligence services before declaring Russia the source of the DNC and Podesta hacks.
There is just one tiny problem…
Federal law enforcement is trusting a third-party investigation into hacking against the Democrats and telling the world the Russians did it.
Federal agencies haven’t examined the Democratic National Committee computer server, according to reports. That’s right, they haven’t examined the source of the alleged hacking.
Feds are trusting the DNC and the security firm hired by the DNC to determine who’s responsible for the hacking. They’re taking the DNC word as truth and proclaiming the same to blame the Russians for influencing the presidential election.
And people worry about President-elect Donald Trump’s tweets countering the findings and claiming the feds don’t really know who hacked whom. He’s about to be proven more right than wrong.
Right Wing News caught on to the revelation and exposed the contradiction in truth.
Call me crazy, but if you claim that a country hacked the DNC servers, then shouldn’t you look at the servers and see if there’s any evidence whatsoever?
So what just happened was Hillary got her butt whipped in the 2016 election by a man with no experience. The DNC couldn’t believe it. They blamed Russian hackers for tampering with the election instead of conceding defeat with their head high. And to top it off, there’s no actual evidence that any hack ever took place by the Russians.
Another news outlet not controlled by the mainstream media, The Federalist Papers, dug deeper.
The FBI never examined the DNC computer servers during its investigation into Russian attempts to interfere in the election, BuzzFeed reports.
According to one intelligence official who spoke to the publication, no US intelligence agency has performed its own forensics analysis on the hacked servers.
Instead, the official said, the bureau and other agencies have relied on analysis done by the third-party security firm CrowdStrike, which investigated the breach for the DNC.
“Crowdstrike is pretty good. There’s no reason to believe that anything that they have concluded is not accurate,” the intelligence official told BuzzFeed.
The report comes as controversy continues to surround the Intelligence Community’s assessment that Russia was behind the attack on the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s personal email account.
Here’s one good reason not to trust the Crowdstrike report: they were hired by the DNC and the DNC controls any release of information found by the security company.
The DNC has been known to falsify facts, as revealed in the Wikileaks email releases, and federal agencies shouldn’t be trusting the DNC.
Federal agencies need to get into the DNC computers first-hand and get to the bottom of what happened. The facts they find at that point likely won’t jive with the DNC reports.
