Getting Democrats and Republicans to work for the good of everyone is like trying to get wet cats and dogs to play nice together.
No matter how hard you try to push them together, they just hiss and growl while shivering until one slaps the other and runs for cover.
This nation is at a point where Democrats and Republicans must shake off their differences and get things done under the leadership of the new deal-maker in town.
One blazon Democrat rubbed her party the wrong way and met with President-elect Donald Trump to offer a simple platform where both parties should find common ground.
Conservative blogger Wayne Dupree is loving Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, who strolled right into Trump Tower to talk future business with the next commander in chief.
Dupree says Gabbard is “one of the smartest and brightest representatives in Congress. I wish she were on our side.”
“She bucks her party and stands against Nancy Pelosi and didn’t back down against Debbie Wasserman-Schultz during the Democratic National Committee,” Dupree railed.
She’s leaning more right after opening up a can of worms at the feet of Congress.
Gabbard, an officer with the Army National Guard who has deployed twice to Middle East, shared her “Stop Arming Terrorists” bill with Fox host Tucker Carlson.
Gabbard says the US must stop its “counterproductive regime change war to overthrow the Syrian government.”
“The counterproductive result of this has been that these groups like ISIS, Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups who we proclaim to be our enemy have ended up growing stronger,“ Gabbard told Carlson.
Watch Gabbard here:
The bill she introduced aims to stop the US from providing arms and aide to groups or states – such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar – supporting terrorists. If individuals were to do the same, they would be thrown into jail, Gabbard said.
This is madness that this has been allowed to occur for so long, said Gabbard.
“This is an issue that both Republicans and Democrats should get behind to stop arming terrorists to stop this action that has not only caused devastation, but again, it has both resulted in indirectly and directly strengthening those who we are supposed to be trying to defeat,” Gabbard said.
She told Carlson that Trump was receptive to her goals during their meeting.
“We’re trying to urge every member of Congress to sign on to this very sensible bill that is good for our country and good for our security,” Gabbard said.
Gabbard is a go-getter not afraid to go against the political gain to work for the American people.
A few more of her type working with Trump and Republicans and the ever-stalled Congress might actually get significant work accomplished.
