One of the fiercest commentators on television pulled the trigger on a leftist activist comparing a brutal dictator to the next president.
The irony-laden exchange left the liberal agitator gesturing like a flailing fish out of water.
“Tucker Carlson Tonight” show guest Erin Schrode used her own form of hate speech to start a “conversation” comparing Adolf Hitler to President-elect Donald Trump.
She’s going to need a safe space and a coloring book after tangling with Carlson.
Carlson said many on the Left found Trump being named Time’s Person of the Year a “trigger” and a reminder he indeed will become their commander-in-chief.
Schrode, a failed California House Democratic candidate, posted on Twitter that Hitler was TIME’s Man of the Year in 1938. Since Trump was named the same in 2016, she asked followers to discuss the dichotomy.
Adolf Hitler was @TIME Magazine's Man of the Year in 1938.
Donald Trump is TIME's Person of the Year in 2016.

“There are many lessons we can learn from the 1930s,” she said, adding that the two are not identical situations.
She said it was important that Americans not “normalize” Trump’s campaign rhetoric, or his “ghastly” cabinet nominees, and said there has been a spike in hate crimes in the United States.

Carlson challenged Schrode’s attempts at logical thought throughout the encounter.
Carlson responded he could barely hear because “irony alarms” were going off, as Schrode accused Trump of engaging in “hate speech.” Carlson reminded her that she was the one comparing the New York businessman to the former leader of the German Nazi Party. Watch the interview here:
Social media followers made sure Schrode knows her claims are baseless and out of touch.

@singlevetmom that's what "everybody gets a trophy" Gets you. She sounds more like a Hitler follower. They really don't know what it means!

When your leftist rhetoric garners that much public opposition, enough said.
