As 2016 nears its end, we will no doubt see the annual list of famous celebrities, politicians and other noteworthy people who have passed away during the year. One of those who will likely be sorely missed is Alan Thicke.
Thicke was the quintessential father on the 1980s television show “Growing Pains” and later continued to be seen on television hosting a variety of shows and events. He passed away Tuesday after suffering a heart attack. His family, friends and colleagues all spoke out highly of the star.
If that were the end of it, then it would be a fitting tribute. But there are others who cannot seem to do that, others who politicize everything. Actress Lisa Edelstein is one of them. Thankfully, many Twitter users are taking a higher road than she did.
So sad is the passing of Alan Thicke. Such a good husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace dear Alan.

RIP Alan Thicke. Seems like everyone is checking out before the Trumpacolypse.

Ground rules in case you want to tie a recent death to Trump:
1. Don't.
2. See 1.— neontaster (@neontaster) December 14, 2016
@LisaEdelstein Absolutely insensitive and unnecessary. Someone's father, husband & grandfather died today. Do not politicise it.

@LisaEdelstein You should be ashamed using someone's death as a political soapbox. No class. No respect.

seriously, don't choke on your hate @LisaEdelstein

@LisaEdelstein WHAT is wrong with you?? What a disrespectful statement. His family is mourning. He was beloved by many.

@LisaEdelstein Better dust off your "I'm sorry if anyone was offended" non-apology. I'm sure your publicist is writing it now.
